“Notable projects with biggest Iranian companies in the railway industry are being prepared. Here we are talking about companies such as Raja, Mapna, Taamloko and Wagonpars”, said the Bankruptcy Trustee of TŽV Gredelj – The Rolling Stock Factory, Pero Hrkać, after his visit to Iran. He also explained that this process involves the reparation and modernization of various engines and passenger cars (carriages), which in total makes a job worth more than 100 million dollars.

Hrkać emphasizes that bankruptcy commissioning jobs are almost completely finished, and right now marketing competition is their main task to handle. Even at the time of sanctions in Iran, they were still intensively looking for business opportunities in that country and its market.

“The only way to be successful on foreign market and to finalize this important business is to be followed by HBOR or other financial institutions. Doing respectable business requires financial affidavits and, so far, Croatia did not make any of those available for our exporters”, concludes Hrkać. On the other hand, he says, they were strongly supported by Croatian Chamber of Economy, the new Croatian government and the new Croatian president, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

“I would like to appeal to all institutions, such as MVEP (Ministry of Foreign Affaisr), MINGO (Ministry of Economy), MINPO (Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts) and HBOR (Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development): by joining our strengths and helping our entrepreneurs break into foreign markets, we can be sure to enlarge our chances to succeed. We should keep the economic diplomacy alive and strong for our domestic econo, said the president of Croatian Chamber of Economy, Luka Burilović, who also added that the times when Gredelj’s business opportunities were limited due to politics, are far behind us.
